The Gamo PT-80 is an excellent replica of the Beretta Cougar. The break barrel frame of the gun is metal as is the working hammer, and the rest is a good quality plastic. It features a rifled barrel and fires .177 caliber pellets from an eight shot rotary clip. A total of three 8 shot rotary clips are included with pistol.
The Gamo PT-80 is available in three models. The PT-80, PT-80 with Laser sight, and the PT-80 Tactical that has a compensator, flashlight, and dot sight.
This particular pistol can be fired in both single and double action. The single action though, has just slightly less trigger pull weight.

The safety is located on the left side of the gun near the hammer. If the gun is cocked in single action, the hammer can be used to de-cock the gun by holding the hammer, pulling the trigger and slowly letting the hammer uncock.
Just above the trigger on the left side is the frame release catch that unlocks and locks the break barrel.
The Gamo PT-80 is powered by a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge stored in the hand grip. Access to the CO2 chamber is found under the left grip panel. The panel is removed by pulling on the bottom of the panel.
Reinserting the grip panel requires you to slip the two tabs at the top of the panel into the tab holes on the gun grip before you snap the clips on the bottom of the panel down. This attachment method allows for a solidly fastened grip panel that does not slide around or feel loose.
Loading the pellets into the rotary magazines is easy. Drop the pellets through the magazine holes in the magazines until full. Also make sure the bottoms of the pellets are pushed down flush with the magazine and are well seated into the magazine holes.
Testing and Testing Methods:
We will be testing the accuracy, shots per CO2 cartridge, Trigger Pull, pellet velocity, and loudness of the pistol. Temperature of the room is 72ºF .
-For accuracy the pistol will be used in a gun rest. A new CO2 cartridge will be used. Five shots will be fired with a 15 second rest between shots. We will be using Crosman Premiers which have given us good results in the past. The target will be set for 15 feet away.
-Shots per CO2 will be tested by firing shots with 15 second rests, till the performance of the pistol wanes.
-Trigger Pull will be measured with a trigger gauge in lbs of force.
-Pellet Velocity will be measured as an average of 5 shots through a Shooting Chrony.
-Loudness will be measured with a dB meter.
